TERMS & CONDITIONS
Every tattoo experience is unique.
Trust, communication, and mutual respect create the foundation for meaningful work. These terms are here to provide clarity around the booking process, expectations, and responsibilities for both client and artist.
By booking an appointment with Horoeka Rising, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.
Booking & Deposits
A deposit is required to secure your appointment.
-
Deposits must be paid within 3 days of booking unless otherwise agreed.
-
If payment is not received within this timeframe, the appointment may be released to other clients.
-
Deposits contribute towards the final cost of your tattoo.
-
For multi-session projects, deposits are deducted from the final session.
-
Deposits are non-refundable.
-
Deposits may be transferred to a new appointment date when a minimum of 3 days' notice is provided.
-
Rescheduling requests made with less than 3 days' notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
-
In exceptional circumstances, deposit transfers remain at my discretion.
Design Process
Tattooing is a collaborative and creative process.
-
By booking with me, you are choosing to permanently mark your body and place trust in my artistic approach.
-
I create and refine designs as part of the tattoo experience and generally do not send artwork prior to the appointment.
-
Design adjustments and final refinements are completed together on the day.
-
Consultations are available for larger, custom, or more complex projects.
Pricing & Payment
-
Quotes are estimates only.
-
Final pricing will be confirmed before tattooing begins.
-
Full payment is required at the end of each session.
-
Accepted payment methods will be discussed prior to your appointment.
Health & Safety
Prior to your appointment, you will be required to complete a consent form and disclose any relevant health information.
By signing the consent form, you confirm that:
-
You are 18 years of age or older.
-
You are choosing to be tattooed voluntarily.
-
You understand that tattoos are permanent.
-
You have disclosed any relevant medical conditions, medications, allergies, injuries, or concerns.
-
You have reviewed and approved the final design before tattooing begins.
Providing accurate information helps ensure the safest possible experience and the best healing outcome.
Healing Responsibility
While I provide detailed aftercare guidance, the healing of your tattoo is ultimately your responsibility.
Failure to follow aftercare instructions may result in poor healing, infection, or damage to the tattoo.
One-on-One Studio Experience
Horoeka Rising operates as a private studio experience.
-
Appointments are generally conducted one-on-one.
-
A next-of-kin contact is required for all bookings.
-
If you require a support person or are unable to attend alone, this must be discussed prior to your appointment.
-
Failure to communicate this beforehand may result in your appointment being rescheduled or cancelled, with loss of deposit.
Studio Location & Privacy
To protect the privacy and experience of all clients:
-
The studio address is provided once your booking has been confirmed.
-
Unscheduled visits and drop-ins are not accommodated.
-
The studio is located in a rural setting. Clients enter and navigate the property at their own risk.
-
Steps are present at the studio entrance. Please get in touch beforehand if you require wheelchair access or alternative arrangements.
Numbing Cream & Medications
I do not use or permit numbing creams during tattoo appointments.
Numbing products can affect the tattooing process, skin response, and healing outcome.
-
If numbing cream has been applied without prior discussion, the appointment may be cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
-
Please disclose any medications, topical products, or skin treatments prior to your appointment.
Touch-Ups
Touch-ups may be offered at my discretion within 6 months of the original appointment.
-
Touch-ups can only be assessed once the tattoo has fully healed, typically after a minimum of 6 weeks.
-
Requests made outside of the 6-month period may incur an additional fee.
-
I generally do not offer touch-ups on tattoos completed by other artists.
Late Arrivals & Missed Appointments
Please arrive on time for your appointment.
-
Late arrivals may proceed where possible; however, the original appointment fee will still apply regardless of reduced tattooing time.
-
Appointments missed without notice will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
-
Repeated lateness may impact future bookings.
Working Together
Mutual respect, clear communication, and care for the process are essential.
I reserve the right to decline or discontinue projects that:
-
Fall outside my artistic or technical scope.
-
Conflict with my values or studio policies.
-
Raise concerns around safety, wellbeing, or consent.
Appointments may be cancelled if there are concerns regarding:
-
Aggressive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behaviour.
-
Intoxication or impairment.
-
Significant illness, injury, or compromised healing capacity.
-
Pregnancy or breastfeeding where tattooing is not considered appropriate.
Offerings & Nourishment
Food, drinks, and other consumables may be available during your visit.
Any food, drink, or consumable item is accepted and consumed at your own discretion.
Horoeka Rising accepts no responsibility for allergic reactions, sensitivities, or adverse effects arising from their consumption.
